NCHSAA reveals playoff brackets for football, boys soccer

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Sunday marked the reveal of the NCHSAA playoff brackets for both football and boys soccer.
On the gridiron, Hoggard earned the top seed in Class 8A East as well as a bye in Friday’s opening round. Other area teams with byes include Pender, Whiteville, East Bladen and East Columbus. Those playing at home on Friday include Laney, New Hanover, West Brunswick, South Brunswick and South Columbus.
As for the pitch, all four schools in New Hanover county earned byes in round one on Tuesday. Schools such as Topsail and West Brunswick will be at home in the opening round.
