New 3rd Street bridge open


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  The 3rd Street bridge in downtown Wilmington is finally back open after more than a year of construction.

The $4.64 million project began in April 2015.

The governor, the mayor and city leaders held a ribbon cutting ceremony before the bridge actually opened this morning.

The bridge is now fully operational and open to drivers.
