New agreement in Hilton Bluffs Development

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — New details have emerged regarding the proposed Hilton Bluffs Development in Castle Hayne. Copper Builders, the project’s developer, has reached an agreement to sell over 1,160 acres of timberland to Unique Places to Save, a nonprofit organization dedicated to conservation efforts.

The land, which includes wetlands and river shoreline, will be part of an application for funding through the North Carolina Land and Water Fund (NCLWF). The developers emphasize that this move is part of their ongoing efforts to preserve the land as the project progresses.

However, some community members have raised concerns, noting that much of the land in question was already designated for conservation under previous zoning requirements.
