New Bern man wins $150,000 after fishing trip

NEW BERN, NC (WWAY) — There’s another lucky lottery winner in North Carolina.

Charles Benjamin of New Bern caught some catfish, and reeled in $150,000 Saturday.

The North Carolina Education Lottery said on the way home from his fishing trip, Benjamin stopped at the Duck Thru Food Store in Vanceboro and bought two $5 Trucks & Bucks tickets.

After state and federal taxes were withheld, Benjamin received a check for just under $104,000.
