New brewery ‘Museum of Beer and Art’ to open in Leland Friday

The brewery is a collaboration between three Wilmington business owners

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A new brewery is set to open in Leland on Friday.

The Museum of Beer and Art—or MOBA—will be serving beer, wine, and cocktails, with the eventual goal of adding food truck service.

It’s a collaboration between the owner of The Starling and The Ibis, Matt Ray, owner of The Half Sandwich Shop, Carl Cross, and host of Z107.5’s Foz in the Morning Show Staring Michaela, Jason Fosdick.

Cross says opening the brewery is a dream come true.

“Between all of us, you know, that are going to be the operators, we have more than 50 years of experience,” he said. “We’ve all worked locally, we’ve all worked around the country in different aspects. So, I think we bring a lot to the table, a lot of innovation, a lot of creativity.”

The brewery will be open Friday from 3 to 10 p.m. It’s located at 9600 Ploof Road in Leland.
