NEW DETAILS: WPD arrests three in connection to vape and tobacco store break-ins

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department arrested three suspects early Monday morning in connection to multiple vape and tobacco store break-ins.
Police arrested Samuel Carmicheal, 22, of Fayetteville. He faces charges including felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, attempted breaking and entering, felony conspiracy, and felony speeding to elude arrest.
Additionally, Jon-Alexander Kwiagaye, 28, and a 16-year-old juvenile have been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, attempted breaking and entering, and felony conspiracy.
According to a news release, officers spotted the suspects leaving a break-in at Queen Vape & Tobacco on Market Street. A brief vehicle pursuit ensued before the suspects stopped at the end of a service road near Corning and attempted to run off.
Police say they recovered more than $20,000 in stolen currency along with vape and smoke products from the suspects’ vehicle. All three are being held without bond at the New Hanover County Detention Center.
