New Emergency Department entrance to open Thursday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The new emergency department entrance and parking lot at New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s main campus will open at 7 a.m. Thursday, June 30.

According to a press release from NHRMC, the temporary entrance will no longer be in use.

The new entrance has been designed to improve accessibility and convenience for visitors.

Visitors can access the new entrance by using Ambulance Drive and following the red emergency signs.

The renovation for the main campus emergency department is expected to be finished in 2017. Once completed, the new emergency department will feature 107 treatment areas, nearly doubling the amount of spaces.
