WATCH: New grid deck delivered for Cape Fear Memorial Bridge project

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Visible progress is being made on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge project.

Just over a week after lane closures began on the eastbound lanes of the bridge, the new grid deck has been delivered.

NCDOT crews worked to unload the sections off a truck Wednesday morning.

Eastbound work is expected to continue through late March, with westbound work beginning after the Azalea Festival in April.
