More than 2,800 cases of COVID-19 in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released its latest numbers of coronavirus cases in North Carolina.

As of Monday morning, there were 2,870 cases in the state and 33 deaths. 270 people are hospitalized across the state.

So far, the state has completed 40,726 tests.

As of Sunday evening, there are 47 cases in New Hanover County. 19 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the county.

Columbus County reports nine cases, 24 positive cases in Brunswick County, Pender and Bladen counties report one case.

Brunswick and Columbus counties are both reporting one death related to COVID-19.
