New Hanover County seeking public comment for Comprehensive Plan

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County is seeking public input over the next several weeks on the county’s Comprehensive Plan.

New Hanover County Planning and Land Use will collect input on the working document for Destination 2050 and use it to finalize the plan which will be presented to the Board of Commissioners for adoption at their February 2nd meeting.

The New Hanover County Comprehensive Plan outlines the county’s vision and goals for land use in the unincorporated areas of the county.

Community members can find an online public comment form to submit feedback for consideration.

Staff will also have copies of the draft plan available at several organizations for residents to review and provide comment.

Residents can also request an appointment to review the plan by emailing kboykin@nhcgov.com.

During regular business hours on December 2nd through the 4th the community is invited to drop by the NHC Government Center where staff will be available to answer questions and listen to feedback with no appointment necessary.

After all of the feedback is collected and reviewed, final revisions to Destination 2050 will be made prior to January 8th.
