New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office fires detention officer after arrest

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has fired a detention officer following a violation of North Carolina state law related to domestic violence.
According to a press release, Jamison Matthew Odell, a Detention Officer of two months, has been arrested and charged with communicating threats, 2nd-degree trespass, and stalking.
He has been terminated from the Sheriff’s Office. Odell was released on a $2500 unsecured bond by a District Court Judge.
