New Hanover County student serves as UNCW Basketball Team Manager
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A student in the New Hanover County Schools Special Education Transition Program for Young Adults is part of the UNCW Men’s Basketball team.
Christian Michael White has served as the team’s manager for the past three years.
According to a news release from New Hanover County schools, before each game, White hangs the team’s jerseys in the locker room. He helps the team during practice and games by getting the equipment out, preparing water for the players, passing them balls for warm-ups, handing out towels during the huddle, and wiping the floor when they fall. Afterwards, he helps with laundry, cleans the equipment and puts it away. The Seahawks can count on him to scream loudly as he cheers them to victory.
New Hanover County Schools Special Education team says they are proud of Christian and the UNCW Team.
This was the first CAA Championship game he was able to attend.
White will receive his second CAA Championship ring for his role as Team Manager.
