New Hanover, West Columbus advance to baseball state finals

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two more area teams clinched berths in the NCHSAA Baseball Finals today as New Hanover and West Columbus both won their games Saturday.

The Wildcats won their game at home against Terry Sanford, 3-0. New Hanover heads back to the state finals for the second year in a row.
West Columbus had to get their clinching win on the road, but the win came in dominating 11-0 fashion over Riverside.
West and New Hanover join Whiteville in the state title series. The Vikings are in 1A, the Wolfpack are in 2A and the Cats are in 3A.
The state championship series begins Friday.
