New Smash burger restaurant splits profits for cancer research

Wilmington, NC (WWAY)– A new Wilmington restaurant is cooking good food and dishing out a side order of hope. “Zeke Smash” located on 17th street, specializes in smash burgers, fries, and cheese curds.

Owner Kyle Nelson, says he wants patrons to eat, with purpose. He’s donating five percent of his profits to various children’s cancer charities, paying tribute to family friend Zeke Ramsey.

“He is a phenomenal young man who is born with a very rare form of leukemia. He is healthy but still in treatment. Here in Zeke Smash, we want to bring attention to childhood cancer and proper funding to childhood cancer research”, said Nelson.

Nelson opened the store recently, and gave profits for Saint Baldricks, which helps fund cancer research.
