#ThisIsThePlace: New winery & distillery coming soon to Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — A new winery will soon be added to the list of attractions in Bladen County.

From a petting zoo to a wedding venue, you will be able to do a lot of things at the Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery that will be opening in just next few weeks.

Owner Alex Munroe says in addition to a winery, there will also be a restaurant called The Cork Room.

He says so if you don’t like wine, you still will be able to have plenty of fun.

“We are also going to have a distillery opening soon so the distillery will make different types of moonshines, bourbons, and that’s pretty unique for vineyards and wineries now to be able to have a distillery,” Munroe said. “It’s pretty new concept to North Carolina.”

He says what makes this area so great is that it’s the center point to surrounding cities like Wilmington, Fayetteville, and Raleigh.

Munroe says he has been collecting art since he was 15 years old and all of that will be showcased in each room including paintings from Picasso to Elvis Presley sunglasses.
