Newly elected Superintendent of Columbus County Schools Eddie Beck shares excitement as he steps into new role
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — WWAY spoke with the newly elected Superintendent of Columbus County Schools.
Eddie Beck is replacing Deanne Meadows who is retiring as Superintendent on June 30th, after five years on the job. Beck has been with Columbus County Schools for 28 years. He got his start as a teacher at West Columbus High School.
Over the years, he has held several positions within the school system serving as Assistant Superintendent since last fall.
Beck said although his title will change, his mission will not.
“I’m looking forward to making sure that each and every student in our district receives an excellent educational experience and that they have everything they need in their toolbox when they leave Columbus County Schools to be successful citizens,” Beck said.
It is unclear who will take over as Assistant Superintendent. Beck said the district is in the beginning stages of filling the position.
