New Hanover Co. Democrats speak out against Trump/Pence ticket

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Before Mike Pence spoke in Wilmington today, area democrats held a news conference to stand up against the Trump/Pence ticket, voicing their opinions on why Clinton and Kaine are a better choice for the country.

The democrats said they do not believe Donald Trump has the qualifications or temperament to run the country. They said that Mike Pence consistently disagrees with his running mate on topics from Russian provocation in Syria to deporting people from the US.

When asked about the most recent developments on the Clinton emails, New Hanover County Democratic Party president Richard Poole said the intelligence community believes the emails were released as the result of Russian hacking, which trump encouraged.

“Mike Pence has himself acknowledged that they are the result of Russian efforts to interfere with our election. And I think the only thing we can do is to condemn that and to repudiate the people that want to influence our election,” said Poole.
