New Hanover County Hispanic-Latino Commission hosts resource fair
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Hispanic-Latino Commission partnered up with the City of Wilmington and three local organizations to hold a resource fair on Saturday.
The event was held at the MLK Community Center and hosted organizations from across the Cape Fear, including the Wilmington Fire Department, the UNCW Latino Alliance, and many more.
UNCW Centro Hispano director Edel Segovia said the first-time event serves to bridge the gap between the Latino community and local organizations.
“We have representation from trusted agencies that are doing everything they can to outreach to the community,” Segovia said. “We see them at different events. We just want to make sure that also the Latino community is reached out to and represented here.”
Segovia said she is pleased with the event’s turnout and is excited to see local organizations continue their community outreach.
