NHCFR: Three pets killed in Gordon Road house fire

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Three pets were killed in a house fire in New Hanover County.
On Tuesday, Nov. 26 around 3 p.m., New Hanover County Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire off Gordon Road.
The fire was called in by a passing driver who noticed smoke coming from the residence.
NHCFR and Wilmington Fire Department crews arrived on scene quickly and worked diligently to bring the fire under control within 15 minutes of their arrival.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries to any responders or civilians. However, despite the efforts of our firefighters, three animals in the home did not survive.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by NHCFR Office of Fire Marshal.
