NHRMC expansion project begins tomorrow

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The project to expand the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Emergency Department begins tomorrow.

A spokeswoman said the project will double the size of the department at their main 17th Street location. The completion of the project is scheduled for spring of 2017. During the project, emergency patients arriving by car will be directed to the new emergency entrance to the right of the hospital’s main front entrance.

Officials say it’s the busiest emergency department in Southeastern North Carolina.
