UPDATE: Missing Laney HS student found safe

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies say a missing teen has been found safe and is back at home.

According to a release from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, 15-year-old Virginia Maggie Renee Pleasant, who goes by Jenna, was last seen Friday, December 8.

Pleasant is described as 5′ 5″, around 140 lbs., with a medium build. She is mixed race with reddish, medium length hair that may be in a ponytail.

Pleasant was last seen at her home at 5919 Sidbury Road, wearing a burgundy jacket with grey jogging pants.

She is a student at Laney High School.
