No appeal filed by former Ashley TA

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The termination letter of the former teaching assistant at Ashley High School accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student has been released. This comes after the 30-day appeal period ended for the former staff member, who a school spokeswoman said never appealed the firing.

Rebecca Morgan was fired in late April after an investigation into a relationship with a female student. According to the termination letter, Morgan is not allowed on any New Hanover County School property.

There have been no charges filed against the former TA. Lt. Jerry Brewer with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is still ongoing.
