Suspect wanted in Leland store armed robbery


LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are looking for the man accused of robbing a store at gunpoint.

Deputies said the incident happened last night around 9:30 p.m. at the Leland Supermarket located in the 1300 block of Lanvale Road. They say the man had a handgun and got away with cash. They say the robber ran from the scene. Deputies said the clerk was the only person inside at the time and was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’10” – 6’0″ tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds and possibly in his late teens or early twenties. He was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt with a blue bandana over his face.
