Nominations open for 2026 Children’s Champions Awards
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Smart Start of New Hanover County announced on Tuesday the opening of its 2026 Children’s Champions Awards nominations.
For the past 25 years, the awards have honored educators, parents, advocates, healthcare professionals, business leaders, and community partners that go above and beyond to ensure children enter kindergarten on track and healthy.
To celebrate 25 years, Smart Start will host an awards ceremony and celebration on April 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Plaza on Princess.
“Our Children’s Champions represent the heart of this community,” said Jennifer Gallo of Smart Start of New Hanover County. “Even in times of transition, it’s important that we continue to lift up and celebrate those who are working every day to support our youngest children.”
