North Brunswick opens tourney with 70-45 win over APA

BOILING SPRING LAKES, N.C. (WWAY) — North Brunswick boys basketball tipped off the first game in the inaugural Farm Bureau Cougar Classic and came out victorious over Arendell Parrott Academy 70-45 on Thursday.
The Scorpions led by six at halftime, but exploded afterwards to lead by as much as 30.
Jack Baker led North Brunswick with 19 points while Gabe Camacho added another ten in the neutral site contest.
“It’s a lot tougher,” Camacho said. “We have to bring our own energy. First half, we actually didn’t bring that much energy. We did pick it up in the second half. That’s what got us in the lead. We get a good feel for the team in the first half. We bring the energy in the second half. We have a lot of depth, so we don’t get very tired in the first half.”
Tournament host South Brunswick will face APA on Friday.
