North Myrtle Beach inches toward plastic bag ban
HORRY COUNTY, SC (WPDE) — The ban is closer to becoming law, and the bags are closer to being on their way out of town.
North Myrtle Beach city leaders moved forward with their proposed plastic bag ban Monday night, with a significant adjustment: Instead of being enforced at the end of the 2024 tourism season, the law would take effect in October 2021.
“If we’re going to go ahead and ban plastic bags, we need to just ban plastic bags,” Mayor Marilyn Hatley said.
