North Topsail Beach announces town manager resignation

NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH, N.C. (WWAY) — The Board of Aldermen of the Town of North Topsail Beach announced today the resignation of Town Manager Alice Derian, concluding her tenure leading the town’s administrative operations effective June 1, 2026.  

Mayor Grant stated, “The Town has already begun the process of hiring both an interim and full-time manager. We will be interviewing interim candidates this week and have begun the process of recruiting a permanent replacement. Ms. Derian will continue in her role for the foreseeable future to ensure a smooth transition. We wish well in her new endeavor.” 

The Board of Aldermen is working closely with the North Carolina League of Municipalities to find an Interim Town Manager to step in and ensure the continuation of smooth operations while the Board focuses on finding a permanent candidate to fill the role of Town Manager. 

The Board of Aldermen will provide additional information regarding interim leadership and the process for selecting the next town manager at a later time.
