North Topsail Beach parking lot closed

NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The parking lot on the north end of North Topsail Beach is closed until further notice.

The town’s Facebook page says construction crews are working on the parking lot at the end of River Road, because of advanced erosion. Officials say the Onslow County Beach Access #3 at the end of River Road is still accessible by four wheel drive vehicles only.

Town officials also say there is no side-street parking along River Road and River Drive. Non-four wheel drive vehicles should park at the closest public beach access at Onslow County Beach Access #1 at 1796 New River Inlet Road.

The town said parking violators on River Road and River Drive will be ticketed or towed if reported on private property.
