Northern Riverfront Project Moves Forward

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Tuesday night the Wilmington City council listened to a presentation by representatives from the company behind the north portion of the riverfront development. They said the project is moving forward.

USA Investco CEO Chuck Schoninger said the Blackfinn Ameripub and Vida Mexican Kitchen will open up near the marina.

Developers say the north riverfront property is ready for development. There are also plans to possibly construct a hotel in that area.

Schoninger has told WWAY before these new additions will add a contemporary component to the historical downtown vibe.

But it’s not all about the downtown vibes; developers said more than $200 million of development is planned for that area.

Developers are hoping the restaurants will be open by next summer.
