ONLY ON 3: Northern Riverfront Project sets sights on fall opening

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — You may have noticed the northern end of the downtown Wilmington riverfront has been undergoing some changes lately.

“This downtown area is going to be dynamic after we get everything put together,” said USA Investco CEO Chuck Schoninger.

Two brand new restaurants Blackfinn Ameripub and Vida Mexican Kitchen are in the construction phase right now.

“Blackfinn will hold about 300 people for seating, Vida very similar numbers,” said Schoninger.

Schoninger said they are hoping to open the doors of both restaurants by September or October. He said these new eateries will bring in a contemporary and updated twist on the historic vibe of downtown.

“These are more modern you know bigger venues. You don’t get the functionally obsolete or functionally difficult to be with. We’ve got open venues here,” said Schoninger.

So be on the lookout, a new hangout spot is coming soon.
