Northwest Police looking for man who posed as lottery official, stole tickets


NORTHWEST, NC (WWAY) — The Northwest Police Department is looking for the man who tried to make off with nearly $150 worth of lottery tickets by posing as a state lottery official.

Surveillance video shows a man entering the Maco Depot store on August 11.

Police said the man told employees he needed to use the lottery system and began printing off lottery tickets. When questioned by employees, the man took the tickets and tried to leave the store.

Police said witnesses believe he was driving a navy blue Infiniti.
