Not a typo: Man arrested on 252 ‘Purple Drank’ charges, deputies say

MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG) — Mobile County Sheriff’s Deputies have a Texas man in custody on 252 charges stemming from a single arrest.

Dannon Vashon Jamison, 43, of Houston was arrested by deputies on Tuesday and charged with 252 counts of Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs.

He remains in Mobile Metro Jail after being booked on Tuesday at 12:10 p.m.

WKRG is told Jamison was found to be in possession of 252 bottles of promethazine syrup, a drug used to treat nausea and vomiting.

It is known to make the popular street drug, called “Purple Drank” also known as “sizzurp” or “lean.”

The exact circumstances of Jamison’s arrest are unclear at this time. As a Texas resident, Jamison does not have a prior arrest record in Mobile County.
