Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center filed certificate of need for Leland hospital

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center has filed a certificate of need application with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

They’re seeking approval to relocate 20 acute care beds from Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center to develop a new 20-bed acute care hospital in Leland; Novant Health Leland Medical Center.

The project is expected to cost $251 million and would be completed in January 2030.

A public hearing will be held on December 8th at noon in the Virginia Williamson Event Center at Brunswick Community College located at 150 College Road NW in Bolivia.

Anyone can write comments, but the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section must receive them no later than 5 p.m. on December 1st.
