NTSB investigating deadly plane crash near Tabor City
TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) — The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a deadly plane crash near the South Carolina border.
According to Columbus County Sheriff Bill Rogers, deputies got the call around 1 pm on Saturday.
The aircraft, a Beech BE-58, crashed near Old Dothan Road and NC 905 near Tabor City, killing two people.
Tabor City Fire Department Chief Jeff Fowler said the plane had taken off from Spartanburg and attempted to land at Grand Strand Airport, when it diverted and began heading towards Tabor City.
The NTSB has an investigator heading to the scene.
