It’s been just over two weeks since a small airplane made a forced and fiery landing on Interstate 26 in Western North Carolina, leaving both occupants injured but alive.

Around two weeks after the crash, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released their Aviation Investigation Preliminary Report, detailing what kind of aircraft was being flown and the moments before the pilots were forced to land on the interstate.

The events all took place on Dec. 14, 2023 around 8:15 p.m. and ended on I-26 near Biltmore Park, between Long Shoals and Airport roads in Buncombe County.
