Numerous injuries reported in North Carolina school bus crash
STANLY COUNTY, NC (WBTV) — One person was airlifted and 16 others injured in a crash involving an overturned school bus in Stanly County Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.
The crash, which involved a Head Start bus, happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 52 near Quail Ridge Road in South Albemarle. Officials said a total of 17 people were injured, one of whom was airlifted from the scene.
Atrium Health officials say they received 14 of the patients at Carolinas HealthCare System Stanly, all with minor injuries. There’s no word on the condition of the other people injured in the crash.
No names or ages have been released for any of the victims.
