Oak Island man arrested and charged with murder

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — An Oak Island man has been charged with murder following an incident that occurred on Saturday.

According to warrants on e-courts, 31-year-old Joshua Cully Crook killed Gregory Seth Condrey sometime on Saturday.

Details about the actual incident and where it happened have not been released, but on a Facebook account for Condrey, several posts have been made by family and friends saying he is gone too soon.

A woman who claims she is Condrey’s mother posted Crook’s mugshot on her own Facebook page, saying “this man murdered my son,” and in another post said “my son was shot and killed last night. We need guidance, peace and understanding.”

Crook has been given no bond and is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday at the Brunswick County Courthouse at 2 pm.
