Oasis NC less than $5,000 away from goal to buy school bus

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An update to a story we first told you back in February.

Oasis NC is a non-profit organization in Wilmington that helps kids with autism and they are raising money to buy a bus.

The students currently are transported to off site activities by the teacher’s personal cars, but they are hoping to change that by getting a bus.

They have now raised more than $20,000 of their $25,000 goal.

Director Erica Merriman says the new bus will get the kids more involved outside the classroom.
