Ocean Isle Beach Fire Dept. responding to house fire

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Officials responded to the scene of a house fire in Allen Park Cottages at Ocean Isle Beach Tuesday morning.

According to witness Stacy Lovdahl, a call was made around 7:40 a.m. after her friend noticed black smoke coming from the home. She says the home may have been struck by lightning around 6:30 a.m.

Video shows one home completely engulfed in flames. Lovdahl says no one was home at the time, however, the home seems completely destroyed.

According to the Ocean Isle Beach Town Clerk, the fire is currently contained and Ocean Isle Fire Department is still on scene. Lovdahl says units from Shallotte are also on scene.

The town clerk says there is minimal damage to adjacent homes.
