October medication disposal event comes Saturday
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Saturday, New Hanover Regional Medical Center partnered with regional healthcare, law enforcement, education and safety organizations for a medication drop off.
The event was to encourage proper disposal of medications and syringes.
Seventeen locations in New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow, Columbus and Duplin counties accepted medications and syringes on Saturday, October 27 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Anyone unable to attend but interested in getting rid of unwanted medication can visit any permanent drop box available across southeastern North Carolina.
No needles or biohazard materials are accepted in the drop boxes. Find your nearest drop-off site here.
