Officials identify Horry Co. police officer killed in crash
HORRY COUNTY, SC (WPDE) — Horry County officials confirmed the death of an Horry County Police Officer killed in the line of duty Tuesday night in a vehicle incident on Highway 22, according to public information officer Kelly Moore.
Officials identified the officer as 57-year-old Melton “Fox” Gore. He was cleaning debris off of the intersection of Highway 22 and Highway 31 when he was hit by a vehicle.
