Ogden residents give Waffle House waitress early Christmas gifts
OGDEN, NC (WWAY) — The season of giving came early to the community of Ogden on Sunday, as they helped one hardworking woman celebrate Christmas early this year.
70-year-old Rose Wiest began working at a Waffle House in May, after her husband Dennis died back in April.
Since then, many people in the town have come to call her their favorite waitress due to her kindness.
So more than 50 people from the town decided to return that kindness by presenting her with some gifts.
She was surprised while at work on Sunday, with more than $1,000, a variety of gift cards, and self-care items.
