Oleander Drive railroad crossing staying closed for longer than originally scheduled

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A road closure originally planned to last three days has been extended to four.
Railroad crossing work is scheduled to begin this weekend, with a complete closure of Oleander Drive near Dawson Street and Wooster Streets needed.
The closure will now last from 4:00 a.m. Saturday until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 31st — a day longer than originally thought.
The extension is due to an asphalt shortage, according to a CSX representative.
This prolonged closure of Oleander Drive is expected to impact traffic.
City officials ask drivers to seek alternate routes, as well as stay extra alert and be patient.
