Oleander Drive repaving to briefly close lanes and restrict turns Friday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Drivers should expect brief lane closures and turn restrictions on Oleander Drive Friday morning as crews repave part of the roadway near Independence Mall and the Hanover Center shopping center.

Lanes in the 3600 block of Oleander Drive, including part of the intersection between Independence Mall and Hanover Center, will be impacted starting at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, for about one hour.

During that time, the two inner westbound lanes will be closed and traffic will be shifted into a single westbound lane. Eastbound lanes of Oleander Drive will not be impacted.

The center turning lane in the 3600 block will also be closed, and left-turning traffic will not be allowed.

Drivers will also be unable to make left turns out of the parking lots at both Independence Mall and Hanover Center, and through-traffic between the shopping centers will be blocked. Only right turns out of the parking lots will be allowed during paving.
