One local Chinese restaurant opens on Christmas, no matter what

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Christmas is a day to take a break, but for one local Chinese restaurant, they take it as an opportunity. Ming Yao Restaurant, located on College Road, is a family-owned restaurant that serves authentic Chinese food.

Every year, the restaurant is open for business at Christmas. It’s open to anybody who is spending it alone or not wanting to cook a meal.

Aaron Zheng, the son of the family-owned business, says Christmas is their busiest time of the year, and that it’s overwhelming at times, but it’s all worth it at the end.

“In the moment, it’s scary. Whenever I sit down, when it is not busy, or when I’m at home, I say, wow I helped out a lot of people. That’s good”

Ming Yao Restaurant will also be open for New Year’s Day.
