One more hot day before early taste of fall arrives

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Fall doesn’t officially start for four weeks, but it’s going to feel like it this week.
We have one more hot day in store this afternoon before temperatures drop well below average through the weekend.
Not only will afternoon highs be in the lower 80s, there will also be a noticeable drop in humidity.
The StormTrack 3 weather team is forecasting at least 6 nights in a row with lows in the 60s. That would make the longest streak for August since back in 2008.
With summer not officially ending until September 22nd, there’s the chance more hot days are ahead.
But this week will be a great one to spend a lot of time outside, as there are limited rain chances too.
