One Tree Hill Convention held in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Friday night kicked off the first ever One Tree Hill convention in downtown Wilmington.
The TV show was shot in and around the Port City for nine years.
Friday was the start of a 3 day long convention that caters to fans of the CW's hit TV show. Although it no longer on air, the legacy of the show continues.
This weekend the event will feature games, panels, celebrity q&as, two One Tree Hill themed celebrity parties, and a private meet and greet autograph signing with many of the main characters.
One woman even said she traveled all the way from Oregon just for the convention in hopes of meeting one of the big stars.
Sarah Sarganis is from Medford, OR, but came just for this event. "I actually found it when it was no longer on TV. I just picked up the DVDs on sale and I just started watching them and I fell in love with all of the characters," said Sarganis. "I am staying here until Tuesday, but I like it so much I think I might move here."
From Chad Michael Murray to Hilarie Burton, even Stephen Colletti will all be roaming around downtown over the weekend.
Event organizers says this is first One Tree Hill convention, but they hope to continue to hold the event in years to come.
The convention is sold out, but Tree Hills Tours will be doing a tour on Monday that will take you to at least 20 filming locations. It starts at the Hilton in downtown Wilmington at 9 am.
