Ongoing address dispute on Seacrest Drive: Neighbors speak out
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY)– Earlier this week, we introduced you to Kim Getz, who lives at 221 Seacrest Drive.
When a new house was built on the lot next door, the new owners were assigned the address “221 and a Half” Seacrest Drive.
Kylie Sheppard, the daughter of the new homeowners, shared that her parents were excited to move to what they consider their “forever home.”
However, like Getz, Sheppard’s parents were unhappy with the addition of the “half” to their address.
For the past year, Sheppard’s parents have reached out to the Town of Wrightsville Beach but have not received a clear explanation as to why the address could not be changed.
Sheppard expressed their frustration, saying, “We just want it worked out. We just want the address that is going to get packages to our house and get them off of Kim’s porch. That’s what we want. We are sad that she has taken the stance I think she has against us because we do feel like we are on the same side and want the town to resolve the issue.”
Sheppard’s parents have been told by the town that the only possible solution would be to reassign addresses to every resident on the street.
WWAY reached out to the Town of Wrightsville Beach for comment but has not heard back at this time.
