PCSO still awaits Paitin Fields’ autopsy, community to hold vigil


PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Five months and one week since a Pender County child died and we’re still no closer to knowing who killed her.

Paitin Fields died on November 15.

Investigators believe she was raped and strangled.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office told WWAY they have six months to complete an autopsy.

With only three weeks left, the Pender County Sheriff’s Office says they have still not received the results.

A vigil is being held for Paitin this Saturday. It starts at 7 p.m. at the Pender County Courthouse gazebo. The community is invited to attend.
