Paramedic charged with DWI after driving ambulance, hitting truck

PAMLICO COUNTY, NC (WCTI) — A Pamlico County paramedic was charged with driving while impaired after he hit a truck while driving an ambulance, Pamlico County Sheriff Chris Davis said.

Eric James Kindle, 37, of Oriental was off-duty at the time, when Sheriff Davis said Kindle moved the ambulance from one side of a building to the other on Sunday around 1 a.m. During that move, Kindle allegedly hit a parked vehicle. State troopers were called to the scene to investigate and charged Kindle with DWI.
